INDONESIA

Asia survived

Gili Air, Lombok, Indonesia

I made it to Bali, Canggu, early April just a few days before three friends of mine come over from Finland. I was stoked to meet them and we had great time in Canggu and Gili Air, where the picture was taken. Thank you so much for your visit Juhis, Juha and Tuomas!

Indonesia was the hardest country to cycle through off all the 32 countries I’ve seen so far.

I was also stoked having finished cycling Asia and making it to Bali alive. During my last few days on the bike in Java, lorry and bus drivers seemed to be on a mission to kill me. Twice a oncoming vehicle forced me to steer my bike into a ditch and once a lorry overtook me so close, that it touched my panniers. Cycling Indonesia was hard mentally and physically. It was the hardest country to cycle through of all the 32 countries I’ve seen so far. During my last five days of cycling in Asia I cracked on 800+ kilometers just to get this part of the world done as soon as possible.

Bali is the end of the road for me in Asia. I’m now happy to be having a proper break from cycling and getting prepared for the next leg of the journey.
